As you know, the league was shut down just days before our Opening Day celebration, and the start of games due to COVID-19. This means that the league spent money that is non-refundable to us. Things like, fields and lights for February-mid March, fee to keep the snack bar in Redrock’s possession, food, drinks, games, prizes, ice machine repair, catcher gear, helmets, game balls, and uniforms are expenses that have been spent, and cannot be returned. Baseball seasons are paid for upfront. We received about $2,500 in sponsorships, which is wonderful and absolutely helps with costs to get the season started, but it does not even cover the full bill for uniforms, and we will still owe what the sponsors paid for in Spring 2021. This means that we are extremely limited in what refunds we can give back to you.
Redrock Little League offers some of the cheapest registration fees in the Valley. This is not because our bills are lower than other leagues. Normally, the money spent at the beginning of the season is made up for after Opening Day, snack bar operation during games, and sponsorships. COVID-19 has us making our money back in 2020 impossible. We are sure that there are many Redrock families that have been affected by this pandemic and we are asking that families understand that Redrock Little League has taken a huge hit as well. We are giving the most money back that is there to give, and the uniform is part of that.
